The coronavirus or covid 19 IgM / IgG antibody test detects whether or not you have covid.

Blood test for COVID-19 of IgM / IgG antibodies with CE marking.

The tests are from Xiamen AmonMed Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

The kit includes:

  • Rapid test kit.
  • Sharp equipment for blood drop.
  • Bubble to extract the drop of blood.
  • Bottle with reagent.
  • Disinfectant wipe.
  • English instructions.

The IgM / IgG antibody test can be used for the rapid detection of virus carriers that are symptomatic or asymptomatic.

Recent studies indicate a high percentage of patients without clinical symptoms of the virus, so the detection of patients is of vital importance. This kit is used for the qualitative determination of SARS-CoV-2 IgS / IgG / IgG antibodies in human serum, plasma, and venous blood veins in vitro samples as an auxiliary diagnosis of COVID-19 infection.

It is intended for a quick initial detection.

The kit resembles a blood glucose self-test. The patient makes a small painless puncture with the equipment provided, the finger area is squeezed and a drop of blood is extracted. This is taken with the bubble and deposited in the analysis kit. The reagent drops are added and the result is obtained in a few minutes. The area is disinfected before and after the treatment with the provided wipe.

The instructions show the process and the results.

What are IgM and IgG antibodies?

IgM antibodies are produced by the body in the early stages of infection and can last up to a month. IgG antibodies are produced later, starting at 14 days, and can last for months or even years.

Specifically, the test results can be interpreted as follows:

Positive IgM and negative IgG mean you are in an early stage of COVID-19 infection
Positive IgM and positive IgG mean you are in a later stage of COVID-19 infection
Negative IgM and Positive IgG means you've had COVID-19 and are over it
Negative IgM and Negative IgG mean that you have never had COVID-19, or that it has been a long time since you have had it and the level of IgG in your blood has dropped to an undetectable level.

What does a positive COVID-19 antibody test result mean?

A positive COVID-19 antibody test means you have or have had the coronavirus, even if you don't remember having any symptoms or feeling bad.

What does a negative COVID-19 antibody test result mean?

A negative result means that the test did not detect COVID-19 antibodies in your blood (values <0.9). This means that your immune system has not generated an antibody response to COVID-19, but it does not necessarily mean that you have not been infected with COVID-19. This is because some people do not develop antibodies to the virus (the immune system has other ways of responding to viruses, such as T cells) or because antibody levels are too low for the test to detect them.

It has been observed that antibody levels may decrease within several weeks after infection, although the absence of antibody detection does not necessarily imply that some protective immunity does not exist.

How accurate are COVID-19 antibody tests?

To understand the precision of a test, two concepts expressed as percentages must be taken into account: sensitivity and specificity.

Sensitivity is the ability of the test to correctly give a positive result for the person who has antibodies.
Specificity is the ability of the test to correctly give a negative result in the person who does not have antibodies.

Although the test results are negative, it is important that you follow the security protocols set by the Health Authorities.
